In the hope that 2003 will be a prosperous and active year, we inform you of two events where you are able to improve your competitiveness in this business. Then there are administrative news and naturally holiday season wishes.
System Packaging Workshop
IMAPS Nordic has decided to co-sponsor a workshop on System Packaging organized by IEEE CPMT to be held January 20 – 22, 2003 in Cork, Ireland. Nordic is well represented in the programme and by experience I can say the interaction and learning environment is excellent.
The essential thing is that IMAPS Nordic members get CPMT member rate if paid before January 10, only 375 euro including all programme, 2 nights hotel and 3 days meals!

IMAPS Nordic Annual Conference
IMAPS Nordic is finalising its choice of hotel in Greater Helsinki for the conference and exhibition September 21 – 24, 2003. Unfortunately Fiskartorpet is under reconstruction so we cannot return there this time. The Call for Abstracts will be sent out as soon as location is known. Deadline for Abstracts is April 10, 2003.

Member fee
IMAPS Nordic has raised the Member Fee to cover better the administrative expenses. The average increase is about 20% but due to different exchange rates, it will not be the same for all countries. For the member fee you get in addition to Member services, and the two journals, Microelectronics International and Advancing Microelectronics, also a discount when registering (most) IMAPS conferences and workshops worldwide.
We do send out member information by email but we are missing some tens of email addresses and some tens are wrong. Please keep our Treasurer updated continuously on all contact information!
New Board
At the year-end IMAPS Nordic gets a new Board. We thank Snorre Prytz for the many active years in the Board and wish him a wonderful time as retiree!
We welcome the new Board members Dag Vinge, Kitron Microelectronics AS, Norway and Mats Lindgren, Kitron Development AB, Sweden!
